Hey guys!! It's a beautiful day, Spring is here, the sun is shining, and I am loving every minute of it! I hope this post finds you all happy and well, and enjoying your day. So, one of the things I love the most about being a mom is being able to be part of my little guys learning and trying new things! Brod and I are all about encouraging our dudes to get out of their comfort zones and learn how to do new things and stretch themselves, even if it seems scary or makes them uncomfortable at first. We were both raised that way and as we look back it helped us to grow and stretch ourselves and more fully experience life! One of the new adventures that is going on for Hanes right now is switching from a bike with training wheels to riding a two-wheeler all on his own (with no training wheels). This is an experience I am sure many of you have been through, both when you were younger learning how to ride a bike for yourself, and as parents teaching your kids. Oh man, we are having quite the bike lesson over here haha! I love watching how Hanes takes on this new challenge, and though we have got a ways to go (the whole balancing the bike on his own is giving him some struggles), it is so cool to how excited he gets when he peddles by himself even if it is only for a few feet. There have also been some moments of fear for him as Brod or I let go of his seat and watch him ride on his own for a little bit and then end in a crash onto the grass haha!
The concept and process of learning how to ride a bike is such a simple one, but I see so many parallels in it for life in general. Learning new skills or taking on new challenges usually come with bumps, bruises, fears, and struggles, and yet those are all worth it and a necessary part of the process of becoming better at something and/or experiencing something new. I love watching and helping my boys learn and grow, fail and succeed, and overcome fears or hesitations with new challenges. There really is nothing better than being a mom and experiencing all that comes with it!
I have partnered with DSW as part of their "March On Moms" campaign, which celebrates motherhood and shares the message that no matter the situation in a mom's life, a positive outlook, your feet, and the right shoes, #MarchOnMoms will be unbreakable! As I said I absolutely love being a mom, and my hope is that I can continue to push my kids to reach for their goals, try new things, and experience all they can with each new day of life. Thank you all for following and for sharing your lives with me. You all inspire me to be a better mom each day!
